DCW has received the green nod from the Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF) to expand its facility at Sahupuram Complex in Tuticorin district of Tamil Nadu.
At Sahupuram Complex, the company is expanding the capacity of trichloroethylene, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resins, and chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) resins, with an investment of Rs 500 crore.
The capacity of trichloroethylene will be ramped up from 7,200 million tpa to 15,480 million tpa and polyvinyl chloride from 90,000 million tpa to 1,50,000 million tpa. The company will augment the capacity of its co-gen power unit from the existing 58.27 MW to 108.27 MW, by adding a 2 x 25 MW plant. The project also involves a CPVC unit which is estimated to have 14,400 tpa.
