Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), owned jointly by the Centre, West Bengal government and the Jharkhand government, has lined up a plan to expand its capacity by 2022.
The company has proposed an expansion plan worth Rs 8,500 crore to reach upto 1,000 MW of solar generating capacity by 2022. For the purpose, DVC is seeking a 30 year long term financial assistance from World Bank.
DVC has already proposed to scale up its solar capacity to a minimum of 235 MW by FY17, in line with its solar RPO (renewable purchase obligations) for the existing distribution business of the company.
