The Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB), has given its approval to as many as eight FDI proposals.
The FDI proposals worth Rs 1,311.54 crore have been approved. Of the total, the proposal of Telenor Mobile Communications AS, to invest Rs 1,000 crore to set up a JV company in the telecom sector, has received FIPB nod. The Norwegian firm's proposal to invest money to raise its stake in Telewings to 74 per cent from the current 49 per cent, has received clearance.
The other proposals which have been cleared include that of Mahle Holding India (Rs 280 crore); Kolkata-based Srei Infrastructure Finance, and Euronet Services India to set up White label ATMs; and UK-based Aveva Solutions for setting up an LLP for software development (Rs 8.39 crore).
Meanwhile, FIPB has deferred ten proposals, while six proposals have been rejected and two proposals have been advised to access automatic route.
