On 14 June 2014, Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, laid the foundation stone for the new Mandovi bridge at Goa.
The project will be developed by Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC). The proposed 3.19 km new bridge will be a cable-strayed bridge to be built at an estimated cost of Rs 466 crore.
This will be the third bridge across the River Mandovi, connecting capital Panaji with its northern suburbs and the famous beaches of North Goa.
