Union Ministry of Railways has invited fresh bids for the Mumbai elevated rail corridor project in Maharashtra so as to get more participation of global players.
The 60 km long elevated rail corridor project between Churchgate and Virar is being set up by Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation with an investment of Rs 22,500 crore. Railways has replaced the earlier RFQ document with a new one.
There were totally six bidders including Reliance Infrastructure, Gammon, L&T, ILFS and GMR who had already submitted the proposals as per the earlier document.
Railways will be signing an agreement with Maharashtra government soon for execution of the project.
