Goa has been granted Rs 100 crore funds from the central government for road projects for the financial year 2014-15, as announced yesterday by the Minister for Public Works Department (PWD), Ramkrishna Dhavalikar.
The funds will benefit Goa’s internal state highways and also enable the government to carry out other major roadwork.
He also said that the detailed project report (DPR) on the proposed Zuari bridge is in the final stage. A preliminary report for the bridge was submitted to PWD, Goa by the project consultants in April 2014.
The PWD Minister said that the discussion on the 252 km road connecting North and South districts in the state, from Patradevi to Polem had also been taken up.
