The government of Haryana has accorded approval to the proposal to provide financial assistance for construction of the metro line from YMCA Chowk to Faridabad as part of the extension of the Delhi metro rail project, Phase-III.
The project will require an estimated investment of Rs 130.80 crore. It is likely to be completed by September 2014. The 14 km Badarpur-Faridabad link will connect Delhi Metro's Central Secretariat-Badarpur corridor to YMCA Chowk in the town. It will have nine metro railway stations between Badarpur and YMCA Chowk in Faridabad.
Phase-III of the Delhi metro rail project, being undertaken by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, is estimated to cost Rs 35,000 crore. The project consists of six corridors in total length of 69.57 km to metro network with 31.11 km of elevated section, and 38.46 km of underground section with extensions to existing lines.
