Hindustan Power Projects has inked a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation (UPPCL) for supplying electricity to the state.
As per the agreement, the company will supply 361 MW to cater to the state's base load requirement, from its Anuppur plant in Madhya Pradesh, for 25 years.
Hindustan Power Projects is implementing a coal-based power project with 2 x 600 MW capacity, at Laharpur Murra in Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh on EPC basis. The project entails an investment of Rs 6,240 crore.
Apart from this, UPPCL has placed a Letter of Intent (LoI) for 3,625 MW, with the lowest seven tariff bidders, to address the power shortage and accelerate the pace of industrialisation in the state.
