Hisense, a global leader in consumer electronics and home appliances, has inaugurated its first manufacturing venture in India with EPACK Manufacturing Technologies (EMTPL), a subsidiary of EPAC Durable.
Located in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, the facility marks a significant step in Hisense’s growth in India and supports the Government’s "Make in India" initiative. The state-of-the-art plant, developed with a significant investment, will exclusively produce room air conditioners (RAC) for the Indian market, starting in 2026. The first phase, with an annual capacity of 0.75 million units, will manufacture Hisense's flagship AC models, including the F-Series, Eco Series, and upcoming Intelli Pro Series.
Phase 2 will expand the facility’s capabilities to include washing machines and front-load categories, while Phase 3, expected in FY27, will add LED TV production. The plant, which currently employs around 500 people, is expected to create 1,500 work opportunities in the coming months and serve both domestic and export markets.
