Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated a bio-CNG and fertiliser plant set up by Banas Dairy in Vav-Tharad district in Gujarat, and laid the foundation for a 150-tonne milk powder plant on 06 December, 2025.
During the event, the Home Minister highlighted the goals set under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's White Revolution 2.0, supported by initiatives like the National Gokul Mission and the National Animal Disease Control Programme. He praised Banas Dairy's growth, noting its turnover has reached Rs 24,000 crore, and credited the co-operative model and women workers in Banaskantha for improving rural livelihoods. He also shared that around 250 dairy leaders will visit Banaskantha in January to learn from its cooperative model.
Emphasising the Bio-CNG initiative, Home Minister Sha said it would serve as a model for cooperatives across the country, promoting a circular economy that boosts farmers' incomes through biogas and organic manure production.
