IBM has signed an agreement with Lodha Group to develop and manage smart city infrastructure for Palava, a greenfield city development project.
The project, spread across 4,000 acre in Thane district, will incorporate IBM’s smart city technology using advanced data driven systems to integrate information from all operations in Palava into a single system.
Lodha has already tied up with another diversified technology major, General Electric (GE), to treat waste water for reuse and for landscaping, flushing etc, in the new planned city.
Palava project is expected to be completed by 2025 and house one lakh families. The first phase of the project is likely to be completed by end 2015.
