The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL) has inaugurated India’s first private Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal (GCT) near Surat, Gujarat, along the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC).
Spanning around 120 acres, the New Sanjali Terminal is developed by the Sawariya Shakti Group on private land under Schedule-1 of the GCT policy, aimed at encouraging private sector investment in logistics infrastructure. Strategically located, the terminal offers connectivity to major industrial hubs such as Panoli GIDC, Ankleshwar, and Jhagadia, and key ports including Dahej, Hazira, and JNPT, boosting regional and national trade. It provides direct access to National Highway-48 and National Expressway-4, and lies just six km from the proposed Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP).
The project features two integrated rail lines operated by both the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL) and Indian Railways. It also includes a 28-acre Inland Container Depot (ICD), along with 6,50,000 sq. ft. of warehousing space equipped with bonded storage, PESO-certified zones, and cold chain facilities.
