Jaipur metro rail project of Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation is likely to receive financial assistance of $176 million (approx Rs 1,097.88 crore) from Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The project estimated to cost Rs 9,100 crore involves development of metro rail in length of 33.25 km in Jaipur district of Rajasthan under two phases. The 12.6 km long, Phase-I will connect Mansarovar to Badi Chaupar with 2.7 km being underground and rest 9.3 km elevated. The 23 km long, Phase-II will connect Sitapura to Ambabari, five km will be underground and 18 km elevated.
The developer will utilise the funds to finance 2.3 km underground stretch from Chandpole to Badi Chopar which is likely to provide access to the central business district by March 2018.
ADB's loan will also be utilised to finance studies for Phase-II of the project.
