Johnson & Johnson is planning to set up a manufacturing plant in Andhra Pradesh.
The company is in talks with the Andhra Pradesh government for allotment of land to set up a facility for manufacturing consumer healthcare products, especially a baby care range of products. The plant will come up at a cost of Rs 450 crore, in different phases.
The company has sought about 60 acre of land, next to the Procter & Gamble plant at Kottur in Mehboobnagar district. The company is expected to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Andhra Pradesh government by next week.
Besides, the company is looking to expand its range of over-the-counter products across all its categories with aggressive marketing strategies and ramping up of its distribution network.
The multi-national company has businesses spread across a spectrum of consumer, medical devices, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals and vision care.
