Kolkata Metro Railway Corporation (KMRCL) is likely to sign an MoU with the state government for East West metro project that will connect Salt Lake to Howrah.
KMRCL is being asked to prepare a draft for a fresh MoU to be signed between railways, urban development, the state government after the cabinet has approved the transfer of city's new metro project to railways ministry. However, the transfer of the project will also require the sanction of Parliament. The fresh MoU will replace the earlier one signed in 2008.
