Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a contract for construction of a new terminal complex at Cochin international airport in Kerala.

The contract is for construction of a 15 lakh sq ft new international terminal complex at the airport.

The board of Cochin International Airport has approved L&T's tender for the terminal. The project is estimated to cost Rs 284.14 crore, which is 11.24 per cent above the estimate of Rs 255 crore.

Tenders for the project were floated in November 2013 and four companies participated in the tender process.

Further, Cochin International Airport is planning to invite bids for balance works such as flooring, false ceiling, electrical works, air-conditioning, fire fighting etc. as separate packages.          

As many as 15 aerobridges, elevators and lifts have been envisioned in the new terminal.
