Laurus Labs is planning to invest Rs 200 crore for capacity expansion in the next 18 months.
Under the plan, the company will set up two new manufacturing facilities in addition to the existing one near Visakhapatnam, to take the total capacity from 800,000 litre to 1.4 million litre.
The expansion will be funded through internal resources.
The company makes 50 per cent supplies to large Indian companies, including Ranbaxy and Dr Reddy's Laboratories, and the rest to companies in Europe, North America and Africa.
In addition, Laurus has plans to expand into making APIs for products targeting diabetes.
