Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MAHAGENCO), has received EoIs from three power companies, to set up a solar plant on PPP model at Shirsuphal in Baramati district.
The three companies are: Tata Power, Welspun Energy, and Essel Power.
MAHAGENCO has invited EoIs to set up a solar-based power plant with 50 MW capacity on PPP basis. The selected bidder will have to build, operate and maintain the plant for 25 years and even share revenue with the state power generation company.
For the project, MAHAGENCO will arrange the land, the necessary approvals, and distribution infrastructure. Further, the company will pay Rs three crore per MW as its contribution till the commissioning of the project. Once the project is commissioned and starts generating revenue, the developer will have to share some percentage of the income with the company, which will be decided later. The project will be financed by the Asian Development Bank.
