1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

Marriott International plans to expand footprint in India

Marriott International has plans to expand its footprint in India by adding another 49 hotels. This will take its overall operating properties to about 70 by 2018. It wants to explore the potential of Tier-II and Tier-III cities.

 

The 49 properties are presently under various stages of construction. As of now, it has about 6,500 employees in India and is expecting to hire 10,000 more people at different levels by 2018. Presently, the Courtyard by Marriott brand has 11 properties and a further 19 are under construction.

 

Marriott International follows the management contract model and has seven operating brands in India. These brands represent the luxury to mid-scale category. The operating brands are JW Marriott, Courtyard by Marriott, Marriott Hotels, Fairfield by Marriott, Marriott Executive Apartments, Renaissance Hotels, and The Ritz Carlton. It has above 4,000 managed and franchised properties over 20 brands all across the world.
