The gas-based combined cycle power project of North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) at Monarchak, in Sipahijala district of Tripura, is facing delay due to lack of gas supply.
The erection of the gas turbine unit of the power plant was completed in September 2013 and since then NEEPCO authorities have been waiting for ONGC to supply gas, so that the plant can be put into operation.
The power project, with 100 MW capacity, is estimated to cost Rs 623.44 crore.
ONGC plans to supply gas to the project by December 2014, as the company requires seven to eight months to complete technical works.
