Mukka Proteins, a leading manufacturer of fish meal, fish oil, and fish-soluble paste, has secured a Rs 474.89 crore contract through its joint venture (JV) with Hardik Gowda and MS Jathin Infra.
The contract, awarded by Bengaluru Solid Waste Management (BSWML), focuses on the treatment and safe disposal of legacy leachate from Bengaluru's Mittaganahalli and Kannur landfill sites. Mukka, holding a 76 percent stake in the JV, will lead the project, expected to span four years with an initial six-month construction phase. The project is a significant step toward environmental conservation, aiming to address the long-standing pollution risks posed by leachate.
Mukka's expertise in managing complex wastewater systems, including over two MLD of fish wastewater, has enabled the contract win. The project will ensure zero untreated discharge, promote circularity, and reduce the environmental footprint of aging landfill sites.
