NTPC has proposed to set up a solar plant at its Sipat super thermal power station in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh.
The company intends to construct a 50 kW solar plant at its 1,980 MW Sipat pit head thermal power project site. The thermal power project involves the installation of three coal-based generating units with 660 MW capacity each.
The company has also invited bids for which the work involves supply, installation and commissioning of the solar plant.
As per the tender document, the selected bidder will have to supply solar modules that should be certified by the Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources (MNES), Government of India.
