Nadhi Bio Products has commissioned a grain-based distillery at Kalukuntla in Mahboobnagar district of Andhra Pradesh.
The project, with a capacity to produce 60 kilo ltr per day extra neutral alcohol (ENA), has been constructed at a cost of Rs 90 crore. It has been financed by a consortium comprising State Bank of India and State Bank of Hyderabad. It will require 160 tonne of starch-based cereal-like jowar, maize and broken rice as the main feedstock.
Apart from ENA, the plant produces around 50 tonne of Distiller's Dried Grain Solubles (DDGS), a protein-rich animal feed, as co-product and also a small quantity of rectified spirit.
Pune-based Praj Industries supplied the machinery to the company for the project, on a turnkey basis along with a 2.5 MW captive power plant. The capacity of the plant is being enhanced to 70,000 ltr per day.
