DS Construction on 17 June 2006,
completed the Raipur-Durg Expressway project (NH-6) in Chhattisgarh, one of the
first BOT projects awarded by National highways Authority of India.
The 27 km long expressway has been
constructed at a cost of Rs.95 crore on a BOT basis with a concession period of
11 years 9 months, including the construction period of the project. The work
entailed four laning of the existing two lane carriageway on the Raipur-Durg
section, the stretch being part of
Golden Quadrilateral.
The expressway has two toll stations
installed, one at Kharun - at the entry point of the expressway from Raipur and
the other at Kosanala - at the exit point of the expressway towards Durg, with
every toll plaza having ten lanes each - five east bound and five west bound.
Out of the five lanes on each side of
the expressway, two lanes will be for cars, regular trucks etc., two lanes for
bikes and one lane will be for wide-bodied trucks and other heavy vehicles.
