Punjab Biomass Power (PBPL) proposes to generate three biomass power plants with an investment of Rs 250 crore in Punjab.
The power plants are to come up at village Bhunerheri and Jalkheri in Patiala and Purkhali in Ropar district with a capacity of 12 MW each. These plants will utilise paddy straw as biomass. PBPL has teamed up with financial institution like IL&FS to complete these projects in the next three to five years.
This apart, PBPL intends to set up seven more such biomass power projects with the total capacity of 84 MW involving an investment of Rs 560 crore.
