Arjun Munda, Chief Minister of Jharkhand on 16 October 2012 inaugurated Adhunik Power & Natural Resources’ (APNRL) 270 MW Unit I of its 2x270 MW coal based power plant in Jamshedpur.
APNRL has signed an MoU with the state government for 1,080 MW. In the Phase I, 540 MW of generation capacity had been planned. The Unit II of 270 MW is slated to be commissioned by the last quarter of the next fiscal. The investment in the Phase I of the project was Rs 3,151.51 crore. The equity requirement was funded by IDFC, SBI-Macquarie and Adhunik, while a consortium of lenders, led by the State Bank of India, has funded the debt requirement of the project.
