The Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion (PBIP) has cleared 52 projects worth Rs 5,180 crore during the last three months in the state of Punjab.
Along with this, 47 more projects worth Rs 22,342 crore are at an advanced stage of approval, while 15 others are at a preliminary stage of approval.
About 74 applications have been received by PBIP, for setting up different projects in the state.
PBIP, along with nine administrative departments such as Pollution Control Board, Power, Revenue, Forest and Agriculture have enabled the state to grant all clearances to the projects within 15 days.
Apart from this, the IT major, Infosys, has started construction of its campus in IT city at SAS Nagar, in Mohali , whereas the foundation stone for Cargill India’s feed plant has already been laid in the month of February 2014.
Also, land has already been allotted to ITC for setting up a food processing unit worth Rs 100 crore at Kapurthala.
Meanwhile, Mahindra and Mahindra and Amity Group have signed an agreement to establish world class universities at Edu-City in New Chandigarh on the outskirts of Chandigarh.
