PTC India has entered into a joint venture (JV) with NLC India Renewables, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NLC India to develop green energy projects with a potential capacity of up to 2,000 MW.
The partnership will initially focus on about 500 MW in the first phase and will explore utility-scale solar, wind and hybrid renewable projects across the country. The joint venture will bring together PTC India’s expertise in power trading and market access with NLC India’s strength in project development and renewable energy parks. The JV will also undertake the establishment, operation and maintenance of projects covering solar, wind, hydro, battery energy storage systems, green ammonia and other emerging green technologies.
Power sales will be carried out through both competitive and regulated routes, catering to DISCOMs, government entities and commercial and industrial consumers. “The new JV will enable both organisations to pool their strengths in project development, power trading, renewable energy park creation, and integrated green energy solutions,” the company said.
