Petronet LNG is likely to commence work on its LNG terminal at Gangavaram, in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, in the second half of 2014.
The project, with 10 million tpa capacity, has received all the necessary clearances to start construction work. The company intends to commence work by December 2014, after it completes the process of awarding the work contract. The project entails an investment of Rs 4,500 crore.
In 2012, the company had signed an agreement with Gangavaram Port for development of the project.
Besides, Petronet is in the process of building another terminal at Kochi in Kerala, which will have a capacity of five million tpa, equivalent to 20 million standard cu mtr per day.
