On 23 March, 2013, Montek Singh Ahluwalia, deputy chairman of the planning commission, and Vijay Bahuguna, chief Minister of Uttarakhand, finalized the annual plan for the year 2013-14 for Uttarakhand.
The commission approved the plan size at Rs 8,500 crore. As per the plan, the state will get a special plan assistance of Rs 300 crore, and special central assistance of Rs 700 crore. Last year the plan size was Rs 8,200 crore.
Meanwhile, the state government has demanded clearances for the scrapped hydel projects in the state. It has also demanded 100 per cent financial help from the Centre for all the centrally funded infrastructure projects in the border areas of the state.
As a part of this, the planning commission will give funds for development of Tehri lake area.
