A major step towards solving Ghughus city's water crisis has been taken with the Maharashtra’s Urban Development Department sanctioning Rs 94 crore under the Centre’s AMRUT 2.0 scheme.
The project aims to provide residents with clean, uninterrupted drinking water. Funding will be shared, with the Central and state governments contributing 45 percent each, and the Municipal Council covering five percent. The project is set to be completed within 18 months.
After the approval, MLA Kishor Jorgewar met with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to discuss the project's rollout. Other pending development works were also reviewed. Jorgewar hailed the decision as ‘historic’, emphasising it would resolve the city's long-standing water scarcity and boost its overall development.
