In a major relief for thousands of homebuyers, the Supreme Court has directed the Noida Authority to issue conditional occupancy certificates (OCs) for housing projects in Sector 150 under the Sports City scheme.
The decision, made on November 24, follows the approval of a resolution plan by the Noida Authority for the stalled project. The land was initially allotted to Lotus Green Constructions (LGCPL), which sub-leased it to 24 developers. With nearly 20,000 housing units across 300 acres, the project has faced delays since 2014. The resolution plan includes measures to lift a ban imposed in January 2021, with a roadmap for developers to comply with building norms and pay outstanding dues.
“We will take the matter to our board for approvals as per the court order,” said Lokesh M, CEO of Noida Authority. Developers must clear dues and complete construction before receiving the final OCs. Sports facilities must be finished within three years.
