Shri Hiranyakeshi SSK Niyamit is planning to expand the capacity of its white crystal sugar unit at Sankeshwar Post, Hukkeri, in Belgaum district of Karnataka.
ProjectsToday (PT), learned that the company intends to increase the capacity of the plant from the existing 5,000 tccpd to 10,000 tccpd. The project, estimated to cost Rs 125 crore, has already achieved financial closure and will be funded through debt equity ratio of 75:25. Work on the project is expected to commence by December 2014 with completion scheduled for December 2016.
The company is also planning to expand its distillery unit capacity from 54 klpd to 84 klpd.
Meanwhile, it will set up a 52 MW bagasse-based power unit at the project site. For the purpose, the company has appointed MITCON Consultancy Services as consultant for the proposed project. Currently, Mitcon is in the final stage of preparing a detailed project report (DPR). The company is scouting for a contractor for the unit.
