Somany Ceramics is planning to invest Rs 200 crore to fund new acquisitions, to expand its capacities and to scale up its dealer network.
At present, the company has a capacity of 35 million sq mtr which will be increased to 41 million sq mtr. It is not investing fresh capacity but participating in equity with its partners through joint ventures. It has three such joint ventures that are operational and will be looking at three more by the end of FY14.
The company plans to expand its product portfolio, by launching bigger sized tiles to cater to residential, hospital, hospitality and educational setups.
Meanwhile, the company is also planning to double the number of showrooms to 140 with a special area of focus in Tier-II towns.
