The Surat railway station is proposed to be revamped with an investment of Rs 3,000 crore.
The railway station project will be implemented under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.
The plan of using cutting edge technology to create new buildings has been presented to the Railway Ministry and the PMO.
The railway ministry has given its approval to the Surat Municipal Corporation to take the project forward.
Once the project starts it will be completed within four years.
