Suryalakshmi Cotton Mills has changed the location for the expansion of its cotton yarn capacity project from Andhra Pradesh to Maharashtra.
An official from the company revealed to ProjectsToday (PT), that the company now intends to expand its cotton yarn capacity from 0.61 lakh spindles to 1.11 lakh spindles at Nagardhan, Ramtek in Nagpur district of Maharashtra.
Earlier, Suryalakshmi Cotton Mills planned to expand its cotton yarn capacity at Ananagallu in Mahaboob Nagar district of Andhra Pradesh. Due to power shortage in Mahaboob Nagar the company has relocated its plans to its existing factory in Maharashtra where the company has a 25 MW power plant.
Currently, land acquisition is underway and work on the project is expected to commence by February 2014 with completion scheduled for November 2014.
