Tata Advanced Systems and Lockheed Martin have announced the groundbreaking of a new maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility in Bengaluru to support the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft.
The facility, set to be completed in 2026, will begin operations in early 2027. Located near Kempegowda International Airport, it will provide a range of services, including depot-level maintenance, component repair, avionics upgrades, and training for Indian engineers. The facility will also create new opportunities for Indian suppliers in the C-130 supply chain. The MRO will also service the C-130J Super Hercules, KC-130J, and future C-130 B-H legacy aircraft.
Frank St. John, Chief Operating Officer of Lockheed Martin, said, “Today’s groundbreaking reflects how far our collaboration with Tata Advanced Systems and India has come… This new facility strengthens that foundation, bringing world-class sustainment capability into India and improving readiness for the Indian Air Force.”
