The Telangana government has launched a comprehensive rural mobility plan as part of the Telangana Rising 2047 vision, aimed at improving rural connectivity and boosting economic growth.
The proposal includes two major corridors: the 770-km Praja Valayam rural ring road and the 1,150-km Telangana Maniharam, designed as part of a radio-centric grid to strengthen links between rural, urban, and semi-urban areas. This initiative is framed under the Rural Agriculture Region Economy (RARE) model, which envisions a regional rapid transit system and cross-state corridors, including the North-South and East-West corridors. These will integrate with the Praja Valayam to ensure seamless rural-urban connectivity.
This expansion is expected to stimulate food processing, investment, and employment opportunities in rural areas, with the government stating that this initiative will boost Telangana’s economic expansion. The plan also calls for an upgrade to the state's road network, including major highways and district roads.
