Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation, in partnership with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), is setting up a 1,000 MW solar power generation park in the state.
The Telangana government has decided to develop this new solar park, on an area of about 5,000 acre, in Mahbubnagar district of the state.
For development of this park, SECI has given in-principle approval for the project.
The state government’s role in the project will be limited to facilitation and creation of necessary support infrastructure.
Apart from this, the government will soon come out with a new industrial policy in the next five years, outlining the areas that need incentives.
In early 2014, SECI had announced its decision to set up a mega solar park in the state and five more such parks in other parts of the country.
