Texmaco Rail & Engineering has commissioned a 10 MW DC group captive solar power plant in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, in partnership with AMP Energy India.
The plant, inaugurated on 17 July, 2025, is part of Texmaco’s strategy to shift towards renewable energy while aligning with national initiatives like Aatma Nirbhar Bharat, Make in India, and the Net Zero 2070 target. The solar plant is expected to generate over 15 million units of electricity annually, supplying Texmaco’s Raipur operations and reducing carbon emissions by more than 12,000 tonne per year. This reduction is equivalent to planting 5,00,000 trees or removing 2,600 vehicles from the road.
The project, commissioned under the Group Captive Open Access Policy, is expected to reduce Texmaco’s power costs by 30–40 percent.
