Two firms have issued RfPs for the proposed Nariman Point-Kandivli coastal freeway project of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
The two firms are Pentacle Consultants, and Stup Consultants. In October 2013, MCGM had invited RfPs for the Techno-Economic and Financial Feasibility Study (TEFS) of the proposed project, and preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR).
The selected bidder for the project will be required to prepare the documentation which will allow bids to be invited on turnkey basis and public private partnership mode. The consultants will also have to prepare these reports in a way that it becomes easier to acquire green clearances.
The project envisages development of Nariman Point-Kandivli coastal freeway in a length of 35.6 km, parallel to the coast in Mumbai, with an investment of Rs 8,000 crore.
Further, the company is examining the possibility of beginning work on some parts by the end of next year.
