Uttar Pradesh Government has issued Letters of Intent (LoIs) to seven companies for setting up solar power plants in the state.
The solar power plants, with a total installed capacity of 130 MW, will be set up in Kalpi area of Jalaun district in Bundelkhand where the state government will wheel in the energy to the state grid for transmission at its own cost. The developers will be given 13 months to set up the plant.
The seven companies which have been issued letters of intent include Colonizers and Developers, Jackson power, DK Infracon, Rifex Energy, Azure Surya, Essel Infra Project and Moser Baer Clean Energy.
Meanwhile, UP Power Corporation (UPPCL), signed a long-term power purchase agreement with Lanco for the purchase of 424 MW of electricity, effective for 25 years, beginning October 2016. UPPCL will purchase power at the rate of Rs 4.31 to Rs 4.437 per unit.
