The government of Uttarakhand is all set to accord new land to Coca-Cola India, at Sitarganj industrial estate in Kumaon region, for its proposed bottling plant.
The move is pursuant to Coca-Cola's decision to scout for an alternate site for its proposed bottling plant, after the Uttarakhand High Court asked the state government to return 25 acre, located at Chharba in Dehradun district, to the local gram panchayat.
Recently, the company had discussed with the State Infrastructure and Industrial Development Corporation of Uttarakhand (SIDCUL) and the state government, for a review of alternate sites in an industrial area with adequate infrastructure facilities already in place. The project entails an investment of Rs 600 crore.
In 2013, Coca-Cola India had inked an MoU with SIDCUL to set up the bottling plant at Chharba.
