Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is proposes to pump in around Rs 500
crore over the next three to four years on expansion and developing a new
campus.
VIT plans to develop a campus at Kelambakkam in Chennai on 150 acre with an
investment of around Rs 300 crore. The campus is likely to be functional by 2012
and accommodate 1,000 students in the first year.
VIT is expected to spend the remaining Rs 200 crore on expanding the existing
Vellore campus, spread over 350 acre, and to improve infrastructure.
