The West Bengal Highway Development Corporation (WBHDC), has invited financial bids from the short listed infrastructure companies for 4-laning of the Dankuni-Chandannagar section of state highway-13.
The state highway connects NH-2 at Dankuni to NH-34 at Barajaguli in Nadia district. In Phase-I, WBHDC intends to widen the 20 km stretch from Dankuni to Chandannagar on Delhi Road. The project, estimated to cost Rs 500 crore, is expected to be commissioned in two phases on a turnkey contract model.
Phase-I involves development of Dankuni to Chandannagar road in Hooghly district, while Phase-II involves development of Chandannagar to Barojaguli road in Nadia district. WBHDC will commence work on Phase-I by September 2013.
Of the 13 infrastructure firms which have participated in the preliminary bidding, 12 have been short listed by WBHDC.
