Government of Andhra Pradesh is planning to complete three dam projects soon in the state.
Construction work on Pulichintala, Yellampalli and Nagarjunasagar Tail-pond projects has already been completed and work related to installation of crest-gates is in the final stage of completion.
Twenty out of the 24 crest-gates of the project have so far been installed on the solid structure of Pulichintala dam, and erection work for the remaining four is likely to be completed by mid-June 2013.
In case of Nagarjunasagar Tail-pond dam, built across the Krishna some 22 km downstream of Nagarjunasagar, eight out of the 20 crest-gates have been erected till now and erection of the remaining 12 gates is expected to be completed by December 2013.
Similarly, 30 out of the 62 crest-gates of Yellampalli dam, constructed across the Godavari in Karimnagar have been installed till now and installation of the rest of the 32 gates is likely to be completed by end-June 2013.
