Maharashtra chief minister, Devendra Fadnavis, yesterday approved the plant to develop a Bandra-Kurla Complex-type business hub in Thane.
The development will come up on 72 acre of land in Kalwa.
MMRDA, the nodal agency for the project, has to draft an action plan for development of the commercial complex. Also, the complex has been proposed to link it to the metro line. This project, once completed, will boost the entire Thane region and that too in a time-bound period.
The business complex will have open spaces and state-of-the-art facilities for industrial houses and entrepreneurs. Since it will be a commercial venture, there is no need of financial support from the state government. The commercial venture will attract huge investments from leading multi-nationals and will generate employment too.
