Coca-Cola is looking forward to setting up a greenfield manufacturing facility in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh.
The project will entail an investment of Rs 1,200 crore. The company intends to set up a unit on 150 acre of land in the industrial zone being developed by Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO) in the region. Coca-Cola is expected to sign an initial lease agreement with IFFCO shortly.
At present, the company is waiting for the necessary clearances. Earlier, it had unveiled an investment plan of $ five billion (approx Rs 30,470 crore) along with its partner, from 2012 to 2020.
IFFCO is developing Kisan SEZ, spread across 2,776 acre at Naidupet in Nellore, where nearly a dozen dairy and food processing companies have already set up their facilities and another 10 have signed initial agreements.
