Khayati Steel Industries plans to set up a TMT bars unit at Kudragundi village, Maddur, in Mandya district of Karnataka.
A spokesperson for the company informed ProjectsToday (PT) that it intended to set up a TMT bars unit with a capacity of two lakh tpa in Karnataka. The project, spread over 60 acre, will include a billets unit of 2.4 lakh tpa capacity. At present, Khayati Steel Industries is in the process of acquiring land.
The project entails an investment of Rs 235 crore. Further, the company is in the process of finalising the civil contractor and machinery supplier for the project.
Currently, work on the project is in the planning stage and civil work is expected to commence by September 2014. It is expected to take about one year to complete, from the date of commencement.
