The government has brought forward the Lucknow-Agra Expressway deadline by six months.
This ambitious 302 km long expressway project completion deadline was 36 months, but has now been reduced to 30 months, starting from the time the government hands over the letter of intent to the developers this year.
The government has introduced an incentive-based scheme, where developers will be monetarily rewarded for finishing the project before the new deadline.
Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) informed that the monetary reward could go upto Rs six crore. The incentive for each developer will be calculated in terms of percentage (averaging 0.4) of the total cost of the package undertaken by it.
This expressway will be developed in five stretches, with a deadline of 30 months, and each stretch will be handled by the list of developers chosen by the state government.
For this project, about 50 per cent (approx 1,500 ha) of land has already been acquired by the state government.
